Townlands Exhibition - and whole village consultation

For all those who missed the Townlands Exhibition below are a short summary of  three of the displays with attached photographs. Just click on the highlighted title to view.

Display 1 was a display of the Townlands Site (Area 1 the wild part of the site, and Area 2 the grassy play area), its history, current position and where we are with the project and included pictures of the site.

Display 2 was a display showing two of the options that could be included in Area 2 of the site in addition to play equipment, a Wildflower Meadow Area, and a Community Garden Area.

Display 3 besides showing how it was intended to increase biodiversity on the site, also provided information on Natural Play ideas that could be incorporated into both areas of the site for the benefit of children of all ages.  Note the ecological survey and natural play report from the Greensand Trust is already on this web site.

Sadly we are unable to show the lovely pictures from Aspley Guise Lower School Year three on their individual visions for the site – they were truly magical and showed the children were, as asked, thinking of the site being used by children of all ages – and they didn’t forget the adults.   We will lift out the recurring ideas from the individual visions, and try to take some of them forward. Thank you Year 3 – your suggestions are invaluable and you obviously put a lot of thought into them.

Every household had a questionnaire delivered in the next few days and these were in the main collected  the following weekend. The results of this survey informed the project plan and its objectives.
